Largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, & catfish are the most popular game fish for Douglas Lake anglers.  Sauger, walleye, & white bass also provide excellent fishing opportunities when they make their late-winter spawning runs to the headwaters.   National Fishing & Boating Week occur each year during early June.  The lake water level can fluctuate especially during the winter months due to HEP demand (highest in January) controlled by the Tennessee Valley Authority.
